We spent Saturday morning at the zoo! All I have to say is it was VERY hot! The kids had a great time, and as parents when your kids are happy you are happy too! I think the part that they loved best was feeding the ducks and turtles. We brought a bunch of bread to feed them. Claire and Corbin both thought that was pretty great. Claire liked looking at the animals from a distance, she wasn't to sure about being up close and personal with them. Corbin on the other hand LOVED the kids petting zoo. He really liked brushing all the animals.
This is a little pre zoo pic that I thought was so funny. The kids like to take all the cushions off the couch, why I have no idea. They do this a million times a day. Our next couch will have cushions that cannot come off. They decided to gather all the babies from the house and play with them. They really do play together a lot. Corbin kind of tells Claire what to do, and as long as she listens all is well. As we speak they are playing hide and go seek. Chris is sitting by me on the couch and Claire has come to hide under our legs every time. Corbin is catching on.

Claire loves elephants. There is a Barney episode with zoo animals that we watch over and over. Her favorite part is the elephants.

Claire likes to do EVERYTHING that Corbin does. She climbed right up next to him at each animal exhibit.
Here they are feeding the ducks and the turtles. The zoo did a really good job redoing this pond. The kids really liked this part of the zoo. This is the only part of the zoo, which is probably why I liked it the best too. I am still baffled that when my mom was a kid it was FREE to go to the zoo. Now it is 10 bucks a person for adults and 6 for kids. baffled.
Despite the heat we had a really fun day! We packed lunches and had a little zoo picnic. The kids both fell asleep in the car afterward which is always a bonus for us!
